Green fingers at the ready – the parish allotments are springing into life, with the council saying it’s been great to see so many plots looking tidy and full of new growth after recent site visits.
The council has also installed new push taps at both allotment sites to help reduce water waste and keep costs under control, with allotment holders encouraged to use water wisely where possible. Read more on the council website here.

St Agnes could soon become even more walker-friendly, thanks to a new joint project between the Parish Council and the Local Improvement Committee aimed at improving the parish footpath network.
With the newly opened King Charles III National Trail expected to bring more visitors to the area, the project hopes to identify awkward stiles, muddy sections, poor signage and other access issues across local paths – while still protecting their historic character. Volunteers are now being sought to help survey footpaths across the parish in June, with the long-term aim of making routes more accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

The Parish Council has published an article answering a number of questions about this year’s Council Tax increase, including where the money goes, why the parish element is rising by 9.9%, and what local services it helps fund.
The piece also explains how the council budget is allocated across things like footpaths, public toilets, play areas, cemeteries, allotments and the library, as well as the financial pressures facing the council going into 2026/27.
An article answering a number of questions about the introduction of 50p charges at some public toilets across the parish.
The piece explains why the charges are being introduced, how much it costs to run and maintain the facilities, and how the council hopes the scheme will help keep toilets open while reducing vandalism and anti-social behaviour. It also includes details about the new £10 lifetime Residents’ Card, which gives parish residents unlimited access to participating toilets.
