St Agnes Gig Club
A friendly rowing club offering competitive and social pilot gig rowing, with crews training year-round and racing in events.
St Agnes Gig Club is a coastal rowing club centred around the traditional Cornish pilot gig. It brings together rowers of all abilities, from beginners to experienced crews, in a sociable and supportive environment.
The club runs regular training sessions and recreational rows throughout the year, giving members the chance to develop technique, fitness, and teamwork on the water. Alongside this, it fields competitive crews that take part in regattas and major events, including the World Pilot Gig Championships on the Isles of Scilly.
As well as competition, the club has a strong social and community aspect, encouraging participation across ages and abilities. It provides a way for people to engage with the sea, stay active, and connect with Cornwall’s maritime heritage.
